Welcome to www.IB-Schools.com which aims to assist parents who wish to educate their children in the International Baccalaureate at private schools in the UK or Europe.

The International Baccalaureate is an international qualification now offered (in 2024) by 5163 schools in over 150 countries worldwide. It is overseen by The International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) in Switzerland. The UK has 128 IB schools of which 75 are private (independent) schools, which offer one or more of the International Baccalaureate programmes.

There are four programmes:

• The Diploma Programme (DP) for students aged 16 to 19
• The Career-related Certificate (CP) for students aged 16-19
• The Middle Years Programme (MYP) for students aged 11 to 16
• The Primary Years Programme (PYP) for students from 3 to 12.

More than 90% of UK IB schools concentrate on the Diploma Programme and only a handful offer the PYP or MYP.

On this site we list all the UK private schools offering the International Baccalaureate plus a number of selected schools in continental Europe. All schools are listed on our geographic search engine, but due to the modest number of schools teaching the IB in the UK, you may not find one in your preferred location. Please contact us for advice if this is the case.

Each year we publish a comprehensive league table of UK independent schools, based on the average points achieved by IB Diploma candidates. The table can also be found on our main advice site. We produce two separate tables for schools with large and small cohorts.
